Dragons are a complex subject, best described in DnD’s Draconomicon books. I will give a quick lesson on dragons for everybody for use with everything, but particularly in DnD.
Dragons can be best divided into two categories: Chromatic and Metallic.
Chromatic
Chromatic dragons are what most people think of when they think of the word Dragon. They are the more evil of the two, and will almost never do anything that does not benefit them in some way. That does not mean they are mindless, however. Dragons are incredibly intelligent creatures. They are not reptiles, but Dragons.
Metallic
Metallic dragons include Gold, silver, bronze, copper, cobalt, iron, mercury, and Mithril. The best way is to describe them is as dragons that will not always eat you instantly. That does not mean they are friendly, however. They are just more likely to consider doing something for a cause that is not their own desires. Most do not, but they will at least consider it .
All dragons are incredibly proud, and believe that they are superior simply because they are dragons. All dragons have a hoard and during adolescence and early adult will expand it in any way possible. After that, they will often become more selective about what they want.
That’s all for now on this fascinating topic. Until next time,
Don’t anger big dragons and don’t get blown up!
